We sat down with Victoria Barbara, a luxury fashion influencer with 1 million Instagram followers who recently landed the cover of L’Officiel Riviera. Over the course of her career, Victoria has been a staple at Paris, Milan, New York and London Fashion Weeks. Barbara was invited by Anna Wintour to be a Vogue 100 honoree last year and most recently she shared her everyday beauty routine with Harpers Bazaar UK.

You’re always travelling and on the go, what is your ideal airport outfit, including shoes and bag?

VB: You have to be comfortable travelling especially on long-haul flights.  I always want to look put together and have layers for changing climates. For me, I like to do a matching cashmere set with a button-down or sweater as an extra layer

How do you plan your outfits? (for every day, for holidays, and for fashion week)

VB: This takes a lot of time.  I look at my schedule that I have planned whether it’s for fashion week or personal travel.  I plan an outfit for each show I will be attending and the items I can mix and match for other occasions.  I will confess I rarely go anywhere without two suitcases!

How did you find your personal style, and how would you define it?

VB: I drew a lot of inspiration from magazines and style icons I admired but then made it my own.  I stay true to what meets my aesthetic.  I like to try new trends but only if they match what I would normally wear.  This often means not trying every single fashion that’s trending just sticking to a few at a time.

Who are you influenced by?

VB: I like classic.  Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, Grace Kelly, Jane Birkin.  Their style transcends time.

What would you like to see change in the fashion industry in 2023?

VB: I really feel myself pushing for sustainable fashion brands.  Fast fashion is so bad for the environment and wasteful.  I find myself trying to reimagine items I already own.

The role of the influencer/blogger has evolved so much over the last 5 or so years, how do you see it progressing further?

VB: That’s what’s exciting!  The possibilities are endless.  It’s a nice relief to be back to in-person events. I am enjoying getting dressed up for a red carpet vs strictly online.

How do you prepare for a Red Carpet Event?

VB: Meditation, rest, and a great facial.

Thank you for taking the time today!
